THE MISSION: The mission of the Education Committee of the Church by the Sea is to provide persons of all ages with opportunities to learn, know and experience the love of God. We strive to accomplish this mission by providing educational experiences and opportunities for all ages – pre-school through adult.

CHURCH SCHOOL: Each Sunday Church School Students (Pre-K through 12th grade) begin the morning in our 10:30am worship service.  During the “Passing of the Peace” the students are led to their Church School classes at about 10:45am.  A Nursery Room and a Toddler Class is available for infants and toddlers starting at 10:00am.  After Church School the children are invited to join their parents for brunch in the St. Regis Ballroom.

CHURCH SUMMER CAMP: During the summer we provide one week of Church Camp full of opportunities children ages 5-12 to learn about faith through great crafts, scripture stories, music, outside adventures and fun. This camp, which usually runs from morning to early afternoon, is staffed by our skilled team of teachers, and often includes field trips to local areas of interest. Themes, programs, and field trips change every year.

ADULT EDUCATION: In the fall, winter and spring the ministers offer Adult Education opportunities on a wide array of topics that intersect with our everyday lives. Past topics have included, “What is the United Church of Christ? What are our beliefs, traditions, practices, sacraments?” Other topics included “Growing up Catholic” and “What is Advent?” The Adult Education program is on break for the summer, but will resume in the fall. All are welcome to join these informal classes and no previous experience or Biblical expertise is necessary.
